ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)

The course is based upon the upcoming Occupation Health and Safety standard and is fully compliant with the ISO 45001 requirements and expectations.

This training course teaches delegates the knowledge and skills required to conduct a complete Occupation Health and Safety audit, from effectively planning the audit, to conducting the audit, reporting on the findings, and ensuring follow up action is completed. It is designed for those carrying out first, second, or third-party audits of an Occupation Health and Safety Management System.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the purpose and the framework of ISO 45001.
  • Interpret the new and revised terms and definitions within ISO 45001.
  • Learn the process approach and how it impacts auditing practices.
  • Learn how to audit requirements of ISO 45001 standard and the auditor’s role in the process.
  • Plan and manage a process-based audit considering resources and timing, use of checklists, ion of audit teams.
  • Gain audit skills and learn techniques for: evaluating, auditing findings, communicating, and presenting audit reports.
  • Identify and write nonconformity statements with insight of proposed corrective actions.
  • Undertake audit follow-up activities.

  • Audit responsibilities and Audit planning.
  • Conducting and follow up the Audit Process.
  • How to audit the OHMS clauses (clause 4 to clause 10).
  • Role plays for simulation of audit situations.

Course Prerequisite

  • ISO 45001:2018 Foundation (OHSMS) Management systems.
  • The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle.
  • The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review, and continual improvement.
  • The concepts of managing occupational health and safety through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control and compliance with legal requirements and other requirements.
  • The relationship between occupational health and safety management and the provision of safe and healthy workplaces, the prevention of work-related injury and ill health, and the proactive improvement of health and safety performance.
  • Common examples of relevant national and local Occupation Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 45001 and the commonly used occupational health and safety management terms and definitions, as given in ISO 45001, which may be gained by completing a CQI and IRCA Certified ISO 45001:2018 Foundation OHSMS training course or the equivalent.

Certification

  • Delegates shall be awarded a certificate of successful completion for passing the written examination and the continual assessment.
  • Non-Successful delegates shall receive a certificate of attendance approved by AASTMT.
  • Successful delegates shall receive certificates approved by CQI|IRCA.
